Mike practices therapy in an eclectic style utilizing Cognitive Behavioral, Existential and Humanistic theories. He is especially interested in treating individuals and families facing debilitating and terminal illnesses. He uses his compassion and knowledge to help all clients deal with their struggles, stresses and transitions in their lives so they can experience life to the fullest.
Mike has been treating clients since 1975. He completed his undergraduate degree at Indiana University, Bloomington and his Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology at the University of Notre Dame. He has had additional mental health training at the University of Chicago and at the Notre Dame University Doctoral Program.
Mike began his career as a probation officer with the Elkhart County Court System. He went on to practice as a mental health counselor at Oaklawn Psychiatric Hospital in Goshen, Indiana. He and a colleague founded Psychological and Family Consultants in 1982 where he remains as the President and is a full time counselor.
