Izzy has a bachelor’s degree in
Middle Grades Education from Georgia College and State University, a Master of
Social Work from Valdosta State University, and a Master of Divinity from
Lancaster Theological Seminary. Izzy has been providing mental health and
substance use services since 2004.
Izzy specializes in substance use
disorders and LGBT issues and uses a variety of modalities to address substance
use issues, including cognitive behavioral and solution focused therapy, and 12
Step interventions to facilitate life-long recovery. Izzy provides a safe and
welcoming environment to address LGBT issues, and can assist clients with
family of origin issues, religious questions and conflicts, and
self-acceptance. Izzy works with
individuals aged 13 to adult in the following areas: substance use disorders,
mental health disorders with specific interests in depression, anger
management, body dysphoria, and dually diagnosed, as well as issues related to
the LGBT community.
Izzy believes that there is tremendous healing
power in the telling of our stories. When we are able to be vulnerable with
others, we soon discover we have immeasurable courage. The introspective work
we do together brings healing and hope for a brighter future.
